Tallahassee, FL — THF proudly announces the retirement of Winston Howell, CPA, CGMA, one of the Firm’s founding partners and shareholders emeritus, who retired earlier this fall.

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give,” said Winston, quoting Winston Churchill, a philosophy he has embodied throughout his distinguished 32-year career at THF.

Serving as Managing Partner for 19 years, Winston’s leadership helped shape the Firm’s vision, strengthen its culture, and position THF as one of the premier accounting firms in the region. His forward-thinking approach and encouragement to embrace challenges beyond the Firm’s comfort zone paved the way for continued growth and innovation.

“When I’m asked what I have learned most over my career, my immediate response is that I learn and accomplish the most when I get out of my comfort zone. More times than I can count, Winston was the one pushing me to do that,” said Jeff Barbacci, CPA, Managing Shareholder.

In addition to his impact within the firm, Winston has been deeply involved in the community and the accounting profession, serving as Past President of the Florida Institute of CPAs (FICPA), Chair of the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, and Chair of Leadership Tallahassee, among many other leadership roles.
