Embrace the Storm: Hurricane Season 2024

With a keen eye on the horizon, Thomas Howell Ferguson P.A. CPAs (THF) Government Consulting Services (GovCon) is gearing up for the impending hurricane season and encourages you to do the same. The 2024 hurricane season is poised to be unprecedented, drawing from historical data provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Since April, the Atlantic Ocean has seen one disturbance, foreshadowing a season predicted to yield 24 named storms, with 11 evolving into hurricanes, including six potentially reaching Category 3 intensity or higher. These projections far exceed the typical seasonal averages of 14 named storms, 7 hurricanes, and 3 major hurricanes.

Now is the time to make readiness a priority, and THF stands ready to provide assistance as needed. It’s essential to remind residents, employees, or municipal fleet managers to maintain fuel levels at half capacity throughout the season, following the “Halfway Full, Halfway There” approach endorsed by the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM). We wish you a safe and healthy hurricane season ahead.
