Thomas Howell Ferguson P.A. CPAs (THF) is a growing, regional, Top 150 accounting firm that has recently opened an office in Panama City, FL, to serve the Bay and Walton County area. We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant with experience in public accounting to join our team. We also have offices in Tallahassee, FL, Tampa, FL, and Bainbridge, GA. You would be responsible for a wide array of tax-related services. You would work with an exceptional team of professionals, receive ongoing training, and work in a technologically advanced office serving a diverse group of clients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand the rules, regulations, and code of professional conduct of the AICPA, FICPA, and the Florida Board of Accountancy
  • Be knowledgeable of pertinent IRC sections and regulations
  • Prepare individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns of varying complexities
  • Become proficient in tax research, including knowledge of the reference sources available to the firm
  • Possess the skills necessary to develop quality client relationships
  • Assume responsibility for the supervision of tax return preparation engagements


The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required)
  • Tax experience in public accounting
  • CPA Certification desirable, but must be CPA eligible
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant for Manager level
  • 3+ years’ recent experience in public accounting
  • Experience working with corporate, individual, partnership, or fiduciary desired
  • Technical knowledge sufficient to supervise staff accountants is a plus
  • Must have the ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Position level may change based on experience
