Tax Manager for a Public Accounting Firm (Full-Time)

Thomas Howell Ferguson P.A. CPAs (THF) is a growing, regional, Top 150 accounting firm seeking professionals with experience in public accounting to join our Tampa office. We also have offices in Tallahassee and Panama City, FL, and in Bainbridge, GA. You would be responsible for a wide array of tax-related services. You would work with an exceptional team of professionals, receive ongoing training, and work in a technologically advanced office serving a diverse group of clients. Requirements
We are specifically looking for someone who has the following qualities:
- Must be able to professionally interact and communicate with individuals at all levels within the firm
- Must be able to professionally interact and communicate with clients
- Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Understands that work requires continual attention to detail, and is good at establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Has experience in a paperless environment (such as Caseware, Caseview) is desirable

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises numerous engagements simultaneously
- Participates in assigning duties and training staff
- Monitors compliance with due dates and within time budgets
- Reviews completed returns and reports to ensure that they meet professional and firm standards
- Resolves engagement issues prior to final partner review
- Perform administrative duties in a timely manner
- Assists in communicating firm policies and technical information to staff
- Mentors and assists staff members in their professional development
- Represents the firm in professional and service organizations, and promotes the firm’s reputation
- Recognizes opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required)
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (required)
- Has at least four years of experience in public accounting
- Has demonstrated past technical and supervisory experience
- Must have an understanding of Microsoft applications and other software programs used to prepare and review tax returns
- Must have the ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Understands the rules, regulations, and code of professional conduct of the AICPA and applicable state boards of accountancy
