In honor of breast cancer awareness month, Thomas Howell Ferguson P.A. CPAs (THF), the 135th largest accounting firm in the nation, continued its participation in the third annual PinkPower Flamingo Challenge. This is sponsored by Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) Foundation and First Commerce Credit Union.
THF challenged team members to support the breast cancer awareness month effort through donating to each Shareholders’ jars. The shareholder who raised the most money was given the opportunity to smash a pie in the face the shareholder with the least amount of money raised. As a collaborative effort, THF raised a total of $3,286 this year!
The PinkPower Flamingo Challenge is a fundraiser held in support of patients battling breast cancer. Funds are raised from local business partners of the TMH Foundation and go toward the Walker Breast Program. The funds enable patients with cancer to receive PET, MRI, and Mammograms for those who may be uninsured, covers travel expenses to the TMH treatment center, and even helps patients afford resources that aid them during treatments. Local participants planted yard signs and pink flamingos in front of their businesses and challenged other companies to join in support.
